How to Make a Batman Themed Cityscape Painting on Your Kids Dresser
You can paint just about anything if you put your skills and mind to it. For an artist, the canvas is just about anything and everything. If your boy wants their room to be completely filled with batman but you are unable to find the complete set especially if it includes a themed dresser then I’m writing this especially for you.
Kids are ever-loving beings living in the world of action and
superheroes. With your artistic heart in the mix, it’s no surprise you would
want to paint their whole world into a cartoon movie. It’s quite easy to now
find themed beds and wallpapers but it can be a challenge to find a themed
dresser that is not just made how your kid wants it but also offers enough
space for you to comfortably organize all their clothes.
Even though you see many spacious dressers when you visit the
supermarket; the only thing that is missing is a Cityscape Painting with the batman logo your kid wants.
Well, no need to fret! Just paint the theme on the dresser
yourself.
All you need are acrylic paints, a paintbrush set, primer, and maybe sandpaper.
1.
You would need a dresser to make the cityscape painting on.
If you already have a dresser then no need to go and buy a new one. Follow the
steps to make the old dresser good as new.
Sand the dresser with sandpaper, even though you will just be painting the themes on the front or on the tabletop, to refresh the whole dresser it is best to send all the wood of the dresser.
2. Once the dresser is completely bare from any paint or visible cracks, you need to now prepare the surface for the actual painting. For the paint to look neat the surface needs to be smooth, apply a coat of primer to the surface of the dresser and let it set.
Once the surface is dry you can swipe your finger over it to check
if it’s smooth enough.
If you feel any roughness on the surface apply another coat of primer.
3. Moving on to cityscape painting the background, paint the whole dresser a dark night blue to highlight the night sky. This color would act as the background of your buildings over it. Use smooth and gentle strokes so the painting comes out smooth. Don’t rush the process.
4.
After the background night blue is
dry, decide where you want the buildings to be, either on the front side where
the drawers are? Or maybe on the tabletop.
Using a smaller brush, make borderlines of the buildings on the side you want them.
Once they are made now fill the inner space with black acrylic
paint, let it sit, and then add window details in the color yellow to showcase
the nighttime and lit windows.
Follow with making the batman sign being projected in the sky to complete the whole theme.
5. Once the whole cityscape painting is complete you can now add a layer of varnish to your painting once it’s completely dry. This will protect it from dirt and moisture.
